Estimate
30,000 - 40,000 HKD
bidding is closed
Description
the rectangular top supported on recessed apron pierced with archaistic scrollwork and six-poster sides joined by a lower stretcher, delicately painted with a branch of flowering and fruiting pomegranate on a black lacquer ground, one of the three ripening fruits bursting open revealing its seeds, the apron and sides lacquered in red and picked out with gilt combed waves along the top edges and flower sprays within gilt outlines on the sides
Condition
There are a few dents and flakes to the lacquer, predominantly at the corners of the top and along the edges. There are some light scratches and expected wear to the lacquer in areas on the top. The lacquer is somewhat toned in commensuration with its age but overall the painting is rather well preserved. There is some re-lacquering to the red lacquer along the edges of the apron. The gilt outlines on the red lacquer are partly rubbed.
