Description
- bamboo (Bambuseae)
finely carved and reticulated with a lady leaning on a garden rock below a tall overhanging wutong tree, pensively looking at a sprig of orchid in her right hand, the reverse with a cliff face riddled with multiple crevasses finely rendered in varied levels of relief, the end-fittings laquered in black, set with a narrow tubular container enclosing an earpick sliding open from one side , the bamboo patinated to a rich golden brown colour
Condition
There is a thin age crackle at one end and very minor minute scratches in areas but overall the earpick holder is in very good condition and the carving particularly fine.
