- Rhinoceros horn on carved wood stand
naturalistically carved in openwork to resemble a section of a tree trunk covered with lenticels, the exterior well figured and wreathed in high-relief by knotty branches issuing thin twigs and bearing clusters of pine needles, two of them growing upwards and forming the handle, a large chilong clambering sinuously in front of the cup while another smaller chilong crouches on the interior rim, the smoothly patinated horn of deep caramel-brown colour, wood stand
Condition
The libation cup is in overall good condition. There are some minor nicks and dents on the rim.
