Exhibited
dish: Transitional Wares and Their Forerunners, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong, 1981, cat. no. 151.
Condition
Both pieces are generally in good condition. There is some light rubbing to the surface enamels of the koake polychrome dish as visible in the photo. There is an unburst to the bottom right of the carpet upon which Damo is seated. The actual colour is somewhat brighter and more vivid compared to the catalogue illustration. There is some usual fritting and minor nicks to the rim of the bowl and a couple of pinprick air bubbles or minor imperfections in the glaze on both the interior and exterior. There is a slight tinge of blue in the glaze which does not reflect in the photo.
