of oval form, carved in low relief on one side with a scholar resting on a log-raft cruising down a wavy stream, the reverse with a low-relief inscription in regular script terminating in a seal mark, lu, all within a stylised pair of confronting kui dragons enclosing the oval panel on both sides, an aperture pierced betwee the kui dragons, the smoothly polished stone of even white colour mottled with icy inclusions
