There is some pitting and calcification to the surface of the official, particularly to the upper half of the figure, consistent with age and this type of jade. There is some minute nibbling to the edge of the carving of Liu Hai. Both carvings are otherwise generally in good condition. The actual colours are close if to slightly less less red compared to the illustration in the catalogue.
