the elephant standing four square turning its head to the left, caparisoned with a saddle cloth decorated with rocks and bats, one boy kneeling next to its left foreleg holding a branch of coral, the other clambering on its back grasping a ruyi sceptre in his hand, the translucent stone highlighted with russet skin, wood stand
Condition
The carving is in good overall condition. There is some very minor nibbling to the edge of the elephant left ear and along the edge of the ruyi. The actual colour of the jade is less yellow, more clear celadon compared to the illustration in the catalogue.
