the head carved in the form of a chrysanthemum blossom with concentric rows of petals, attached to a gnarled branch forming the shaft of the ruyi, the latter detailed in openwork with attendant sprays of lingzhi and bamboo, prunus twigs, and two flying bats, the stone of pale celadon-white colour streaked with pale russet veins, the terminal pierced to thread a silk tassel

Condition

The ruyi is in overall good condition. There is some minor nibbling to the edges of the prunus flowers along the shaft. The actual colour is somewhat more pale compared to the catalogue illustration.
