Description

  • porcelain
decorated on the interior with a central blossom surrounded by four lotus buds and four larger lotus in full bloom, alternating with blue bats and xi ('double happiness') symbols, all interlinked by multi-coloured foliate scrolls and reserved on a turquoise ground, the rim encircled by pale green ruyi, the underside similarly decorated with large lotus suspending a chime, bats and 'endless knots', the base glazed turquoise and inscribed with a six-character iron red seal mark enclosed within a white panel

Condition

There is a hairline crack running vertically from the mouthrim measuring approximately 3.8 cm. . There is some rubbing to the gilding around the rim and expected light wear to the enamels and gilding on the interior. The actual colours are brighter than showing on the illustration in the catalogue.
