the pear-shaped vase painted around the exterior with three dragons striding among multi-coloured clouds above green crashing waves and pendant zig-zag, the neck encircled by a raised yellow rib, the base inscribed with a Chenghua mark; the two dishes applied overall with a red glaze, each inscribed with an apocryphal Xuande 8th year date on the base

Condition

The vase is in overall good condition. There are some expected wear to the surface glaze or firing imperfections, including minute glaze gaps, iron spots or pinholes around the body. There is 2.5 cm. stained body line, two minute specks and small gap in the glaze under the base. There is a 1.2 cm shallow chip under the rim of one saucer dish, together with occasional pinholes and light scratches. The other dish is in good condition.
