of cylindrical form resting on a slightly recessed base, finely painted around the exterior in shaded tones of cobalt with a panel enclosing three scholars on a rocky promontory gazing at the moon, with misty cliffs in the distance, all reserved against a ground of archaistic vases between double circles encircling the rim and foot

Acquired in London during the 1980s.
Condition
The brushpot is in good overall condition. There are a few unburst air bubbles at the rim and further minor specks around the interior rim and on the interior of the brushpot.
