  • Porcelain
each with shallow rounded sides rising from a short tapered foot to a flared rim, applied overall with a pale, slightly iridescent, aubergine-coloured glaze, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character Jiajing mark

Condition

All have expected typical small imperfections or wear to the surface glaze, minute occasional specks or iron spots. There is a small 0.7 cm chip and a couple of nicks to the rim of one. There are two small restored chips (0.4 and 0.3 cm.) and two hairline cracks (3 and 2 cm.) to the rim of another, the longest forked at the rim. There is a minute flake 0.3 cm outside the footring of a third. The two other saucers are in good overall condition.
