Catalogue Note
‘Settling down amongst the purple heather, a covey of red grouse makes ready for the approaching twilight. At the end of a perfect day, the retreating sun glints upon the distant loch and frets the ridge with waning rays. As it goes, it tints the covey quietly observing the end of the day from its hill-top roost, as the mists roll in from the sea’. (John Southern, op.cit., p.68)
