Condition
The canvas is lined. Some craquelure in the foreground of the road, an abrasion to the group or people above the overturned cart by the left edge, and a small abrasion in sky upper right quadrant. The surface appears to be dirty and some signs of discoloured retouchings in the sky.
Ultraviolet light reveals areas of retouchings around the edges of the sky and further flecks within it. Also flecks of retouching through the foreground.
Held in a gilt plaster frame.
