Condition

Original canvas. There are faint stretcher bar marks and some faint, isolated areas of craquelure in the sky, and another small area near centre of the sea. Ultraviolet light reveals an area of retouching in the sky above the central barge, and a small spot near centre of upper edge and another near centre of right edge. The signature fluoresces and appears to have been strengthened. Held in a gilt plaster frame.
