Condition
The canvas and board appear sound and the appears in good overall condition.
Under ultraviolet light the signature appears to have been strengthened. There are some minor retouchings near centre of the upper edge and a tiny spots near the centre of the boy's collar. There is vertical line that fluoresces to the right of the boy's head but these appear to correspond to some old staining.
Held in a gilt plaster frame.
