Engraved frontispiece after Evelyn by AH, one folding mezzotint by Prince Rupert after Jusepe de Ribera, one full-page engraved text illustration, extra-illustrated with 3 engraved plates containing figures 1-18 from an unidentified physiological work; first quire browned, marginal spotting in quire C, upper margin cut short. Later polished tree calf, triple-fillet border, spine richly gilt, edges gilt; corners and joints worn, endleaves edge-stained from binding.
