Catalogue Note

Number 11 of 20 deluxe copies from a limited edition of 113, signed by Cocteau and Hugnet.

La Nappe du Catalan is the only book of collaboration between Jean Cocteau and Georges Hugnet. In the strict tradition of the Surrealist "cadavres exquis", the text was jointly composed as were the illustrations, with Cocteau outlining while Hugnet added the colour backgrounds.
