Catalogue Note
A fine pair of Potter's miniature animal letters, rare at auction.
The one to Alexander notes: "Your book is lovely. I have read it all. I do like Toby in the motor. A little girl has sent me "Fluffy-" dog's photo by same post, but I like Toby best. I am sending you some pictures of me to paint. You can use crayons, paint is messy. Tom Kitten". That to Mrs. Tiggy Winkle: "Though unwilling to hurt the feelings of another widow, I really cannot put up with starch in my pocket handkerchiefs. I am sending this one back to be washed again. Unless the washing improves next week, I shall reluctantly feel obliged to change my laundry. Yrs Truly, Josephine Rabbit."
