Gammer Gurton’s Garland: or, the Nursery Parnassus. London: for R. Triphook, 1810. 8vo (7 ¼ x 4 5/8 in.; 185 x 118 mm); some edge-stain from binding.  19th-century half-calf and marbled boards, gilt-stamped title on spine; rebacked, original spine laid down. Opie, Three Centuries 30.

Oblong 8vo (5 ½ x 6 ¾ in.; 140 x 172 mm); soiled and stained, page 5 repaired at fore-margin affecting image. Publisher’s blind-stamped cloth wrappers, gold-stamped title on upper cover; rubbed. In a brown half-cloth slipcase. Signature of Susan C. Archibald “from her grandmother.” See Opie 646a.

The History of Sixteen Wonderful Old Women, illustrated by as many Engravings. London: J. Harris & Son, 1822. 8vo (6 ¾ x 3 7/8 in.; 172 x 98 mm). Engraved text illustrations, all hand colored; various repaired tears, soiled and stained. Old half cloth and marbled boards; rubbed and scuffed. “This is the earliest known book of the verses now known as limericks” (Opie 760 note, citing 1821 edition) but Osborne 65 says the same about an 1820 edition; not in Moon, Harris.

Engraved title vignette, title printed in red and black, engraved text illustration; top margin a bit short. 19th-century calf, gilt roll-tooled border, spine gilt; rebacked with original spine laid down, edges worn.
