15 pen-and-ink drawings with color wash including a front cover design (9 1/4 x 6 3/4 in.; 235 x 170 mm) and text illustrations (varying size approximately 4 1/2 x 7 1/2 in.; 115 x 190 mm) with pencilled captions, two images fully detailed and signed by the artist, ten sheets annotated on verso with names of the engravers employed for making the blocks; light soiling and some creases where previously folded.

With three printed versions: London: [Edmund Evans for] George Routledge & Co., [1858]. Publisher's blue ribbed quarter cloth and green pictorial boards; edges and corners torn, some soiling and rubbing. First edition, deluxe issue on linen.  — London: George Routledge & Sons., n.d. Publisher's yellow pictorial wrappers; spine chipped. — Le Grenouilleau qui Veut Aller dans le Monde. No imprint. Self wrappers, with printer's annotations on upper cover; soiled. In a blue half-cloth and marbled boards drop-box.
