C. Potter photograph of Whitman on verso inserted after p. 284 — Rivulets with mounted frontispiece photograph of Whitman by G. F. E. Pearsall, inscribed and signed by Whitman (as in all located copies), four-section titles; title-leaf of Leaves with separation at lower edge of gutter, generally a clean copy. Uniformly bound in half light brown leather, spine gilt in six compartments, morocco lettering pieces, deep orange cloth, all edges gilt, light green endpapers (Myerson binding B); spine and extremities with some wear and rubbing, Leaves recased. Half morocco gilt clamshell case.

Morrison of Karns City, Butler Country, Penn., Camden NJ, 21 April [1876], which reads, "I send by Adams' Express this afternoon prepaid — my three Vols — directed to you same as this card — Let me know at once (by p. card will do) when they reach you all right. W. W."
