Description
- hide, porcupine quills, chicken feathers
of typical elongated form, composed of very finely tanned deer hide, decorated with dyed porcupine quills in red, ivory, orange, green, pink, purple and yellow, with a horse and an elk on one side, the opposite with an equestrian figure, wearing a feather bonnet and holding a coup stick, surmounted by an elk, trimmed at the midsection with tin cone pendants inserted with red-dyed chicken feathers (domestic gallus gallus); a quill wrapped cut hide section below; the opening sinew sewn with glass beadwork in numerous colors.
