the serpentine top inlaid with a half-fan medallion within a rosette border and tulipwood banding, above painted frieze with anthemion and amphora, on tapering legs, decoration refreshed
Condition
These tables are extremely elegant and make a highly decorative pair. The tops have been re-polished and one has a thin shrinkage crack running along its width. There are small losses to the veneers and banding consistent with age and use.
The painted decoration appears to be largely original with some refreshed areas. There are small areas which have seen recent 'estate' re-touching and these could be improved on.
Three of the legs to one table have been re-glued at the construction joints and the rear of those legs is now a small undecorated section to the fluted collar from a recent restoration. This is only noticeable when you look underneath the table.
Overall there are old marks and scratches to the table and losses to the painted decoration consistent with age and use.
