Description

  • A Pair of French gilt-bronze and Sèvres urns

  • each 120cm. high; 3ft. 11¼in.
each of ovoid form, the cover with pineapple finial, the body centred by a cartouche of a pastoral scene and a scene of a youth and a young woman fishing, signed L Beretern and opposed by landscapes on a bleu de roi ground, with satyr mask handles on a trumpet foot within a foliate wrapped reeded gilt-bronze border on a square base with recessed curved corners, each cover with faux interlaced LL marks enclosing letter D in blue enamel

Condition

In overall very good conserved condition. Attractively painted. Very minor wear to some areas of the gilding at the foot rims and rims of the covers:
