each with a rectangular outward scrolled padded back above straight arms on winged female suports terminating in lotus leaves above a padded seat on palm leaf carved front legs on paw feet and rear sabre legs, the frames decorated with trelliswork
Condition
In overall good conserved condition and can be placed immediately. Colour of gilding less greenish more golden and more attractive than in the catalogue photograph. An unusual and attractive model nicely carved. Joints sound and sturdy. Old very minor marks, chips, hairline scattered cracks commensurate with age and normal usage. The gilding has minor chips in places which can easily be touched up and has been varnished.On one armchair, there is a very small section of wood between the wings of the left term support which is ungilded. Front legs have had the gilding restored and have been covered in varnish which has run. There is a minor section at the front of one wing retouched with gilt paint where there has been a very small break which is hardly noticeable.
