Description

- 96cm. high, 137cm. wide, 69.5cm. deep; 3ft. 1¾in., 4ft. 6in., 2ft. 3½in.
with a later serpentine moulded brèche d'alep marble top above a pierced serpentine frieze with a cross-hatched ground on cabriole legs joined by a pierced shaped stretcher terminating in scrolled feet the whole carved with rocaille, foliage and acanthus
Condition
In overall good conserved condition. There are some very minor chips to the marble especially along the rear edge and a few very minor scattered chips generally which are hardly noticeable. Old very minor marks and chips to the gilding which can easily be touched up and are commensurate with age and normal usage. There are a couple of later wooden batons beneath the top and there is a piece of wood beneath each corner of the carcass with modern metal hooks to assist attaching the piece to the wood. The gilding is slightly dirty especially on the stretcher and worn on the feet. There are some old very minor chips to the carving which are hardly noticeable and restorations to breaks in the stretcher which have been well executed and hardly noticeable. There are hairline construction cracks at the joints however there is a vertical one on the left side facing which would benefit from being filled and touched up.
