Description

  • giltwood, mirror, pine, poplar
  • each 94cm. high, 56cm. wide; 3ft. 1in., 1ft. 10in.
each with a pierced cresting with lambrequins above a cartouche shaped plate depicting various neo-classical figures including Neptune, Mercury and a female figure in drapery above a ribbon-tied baldacchino, the frame carved with scrolls, flowers and foliage, with an iron fixing; the candlearms now lacking; regilt

Condition

In overall good conserved condition.Old very minor marks and chips and hairline age cracks commensurate with age. The reverse of the mirror appear to be packed with old horsehair beneath the backing. One has an old ink inscribed inventory label on the top of the cresting with the number 953 and another partly torn inventory label possibly with 952 and the reverse with old ink inscribed paper.
