Specialist Comment:
Lovely delicate drawing and colouring, wonderful weave, fine and floppy. Normally associated with rugs of the period, unusual in carpets. The best quality pieces are attributed to the weaver 'Hadji Jalilli' on the basis of colour, drawing and weave. This is a lovely early Tabriz carpet, and really elegant.
