Catalogue Note

This rug has the characteristic separation of a motif from the design becoming the prominent ornamentation of the main field, against a bright red ground and within a border with the repeat pattern of small star motifs, and barber pole. This particular weaving has the unusual demarcation between the elements of horizontal lines of running relief of repeat pattern guls.
