Arabic manuscript on polished paper, 19 leaves plus a flyleaf, 9 lines to the page, written in black naskh script, verses separated by pointed gold florets, illuminated marginal devices marking fifth and tenth verses, 2 surah headings in illuminated panels outlined in blue, f.1a with large headpiece with juz number in white thuluth script, dedication to Sultan Barquq beneath, contemporary tooled morocco binding with gold-punched decoration, with flap
Condition
In fair overall condition, spine with some wear, rubbing and repair to spine and flap, leaves thumbed with some stains and minor losses to leaf edges, as viewed.

The inscription on f.1a states that the Qur’an was endowed by Sultan al-Malik al-Nasir Faraj Ibn Barquq Sayf al-Din, Nasir al-Din (reigned for two short periods: 1399-1405 and 1405-07).
