The influence of the Hispano-Moresque tradition of lustre ceramics is evident on the present dishes which can be directly compared to a dish in the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha, inv. no. PO.393.2006, with the exact same design, dated between 1450-75. It is remarkable that this correspondence is so clearly identifiable between these objects and speaks to the artistic transfusion of motifs and borrowed themes within Islamic communities..
