- 84.5cm. 33in. high
9ΒΌ-inch enamel dial signed Philipp Fertbauer, with subsidiary dials for seconds and date, the reverse mirror image dial with twenty-four hour enamel chapter ring with outer annual calendar and enclosing a sun mask hand behind shutters indicating sunrise and sunset and reverse engraved Sonnen Ausgang and Sonnen Untergang, the massive three train movement with coup perdue pin wheel escapement with silk suspension and sunmask pendulum, grande sonnerie striking on two bells, the drum case with glazed band, surmounted by a gilt-mounted marble urn, the whole raised on two adorsed bronze figures kneeling on a rectagular white marble plinth inset with a putti plaque and with further gilt mounts, toupie feet
Condition
All dials restored. Movement is complete and will just run at cataloguing but very much in need of a clean. Case retains good original gilding and patination, minor chips and scuffs to the marble base, urn cover restored. With pendulum but no winder.
