- each 51cm. high; 1ft. 8in.
each pair with a male and female chinoiserie figure holding aloft three scrolled candlearms cast with acanthus and stylised anthemions, with flaring baluster flower and foliate cast bases on an octagonal plinth
Condition
In overall very good conserved condition. The gilding is less greenish and more golden and attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Fine detail to casting and an attractive model. Some slight wear to gilding and minor surface dirt on some of the nozzles. One of the chinamen with a pipe has a slight bend in the pipe. On the other chinaman the bowl of his pipe is missing. On e bobèche protrudes on a central candlenozzle.The chinawoman on one would appear to have formerly held something in her right hand which is now missing but this is hardly noticeable. Some of teh bobèches are hard to take out and may have been glued.
