Catalogue Note

The ancient Greek myth of Prometheus tells how Prometheus was punished by the gods for bringing fire to humanity. Comforted only by the Oceanids, daughters of Titan, he was bound to rocks and tortured by a daily visit from an eagle who pecked at his liver.
