of arched form, the two side panels carved in relief with a princely couple in 16th century dress preparing for marriage, each with electoral crown nearby, the central panel carved with an allegorical celebration of earthly love, the silver-gilt case with doors beamed in silver and applied with tiny rubies, the scrolled openwork surmount set with foiled pink and green cabochons, with pendent ring, apparently unmarked

Condition

Excellent condition throughout despite some rubbing to gilding on base but silverwork would benefit from professional cleaning.
