the plate enclosed by rococo scrollwork and trailing leaves, the cresting with a moustachioed, plumed and winged mask and a pair of scallop-shells, cresting and apron damaged

Condition
A beautiful mirror but with significant losses to the cresting, apron and foliate carving on sides and losses to minor detail. Cracks to gilding along lines of construction and consequent losses to gilding. Both shell along top are cracked. Chips throughout. Gilding flaking. Some marks to the plate which appears to be old.
