the galleried top with a concave centre above three galleried conforming shelves flanked by doors with foliate-cast mouldings and with oval button-incised tablet headers; possibly the superstructure of a larger piece
Condition
In overall good restored condition. The piece has been broken in the past and heavily restored generally eg the right door, the sides especially the left side while facing and along the rear edges. There are some minor breaks to the gilt-bronze gallery on the top and possibly some minor sections missing towards the rear edge. The gilt-bronze mounts are later additions. There are minor chips generally and areas of infill and there is a chip to the front of the top shelf as visible in the photograph. The alabaster on the top is lighter in colour than the rest. Due to a darker colouration towards the rear edge all around the cabinet and the top it is possible that the piece was formely inset somewhere.
