Description
- PORCELAIN
- 12.8cm., 5 in. high
of globular form, polychrome-printed and enamelled with two large peony flower sprigs, flanked by smaller scattered sprigs, two restored chips and minor haircracks.

Condition
There is a restored chip to the rim with a resulting hairline crack and another to the spout also with a resulting hairline crack.

Catalogue Note
It is likely that the majority of factory decorated Vauxhall polychrome wares were polychrome printed rather than hand painted. Dating from the second half of the 1750s, this class of ware involved the over-glaze printing of two or more colours which were then filled in by hand.
