- A jewelled and enamelled gold aide-mémoire with concealed timepiece, Geneva, mid 19th century
- gold, enamel, rose-cut diamonds, ivory (tablet)
- 9cm., 3 1/2 in. high
the lid centred with a blue enamel panel applied with rose-cut diamonds floral wreath, opening to reveal a compartment containing a small enamel watch dial above the inscriptions: June 8 / 1858 ; Dorothy Prosser Sims / May 14 / 1921, the ground engraved with convolvulus and ivy on engine turning, the silk-lined interior containing a tablet holder (one ivory tablet left), a pencil initialled: DPS and the watch key
Condition
Some wear to gold ground; tablet holder slightly bent and silk lining torn, very charming object.

The engraved foliage on the base contains three putti with very distinctive faces, possibly for the original owner's children.
