Condition

Illustration is a little too clear. Giltbronzes are dirty and would benefit from a cleaning. The marquetry top with marks, scratches and dents would also benefit a slight refreshment. Otherwise, good table in good overall condition, made after a famous Riesener model (today in the Louvre) by the well-known cabinetmaker of the late 19th-century, François Linke.

Linke a reproduit avec exactitude à plusieurs reprises cette table, parmi les meubles les plus célèbres de Riesener : il s'agit d'une des premières livraisons de ce dernier au Garde-Meuble royal, destinée à l'usage personnel de son intendant, Pierre-Elisabeth de Fontanieu, en 1771 (dépôt du château de Versailles au musée du Louvre).
