le plateau centré d'une scène figurant des Amours conduisant un char tiré par un chien, Cerbére et une chimère, et rempli des attributs des dieux et des déesses ; ceint d'une guirlande de pampres ponctuée de quatre médaillons à décor d'Amours menant d'autres animaux attelés tels que papillon, tortue, cygnes ou lions ; reposant sur un piètement tripode sommé de têtes de bélier et terminé par des sabots

Condition

Illustration is accurate. Very good condition. Some inevitable wear on the more exposed area of the mount. Few very slight scratches on the top. Very tiny missing tesserae to the legs of the cupid being pulled by the butterflies, and a few ones to the wing and upper arm of the cupid being pulled by the turtles. Highly attractive micromosaics with refined and precise design.

Catalogue Note

La composition du plateau avec la scène centrale du triomphe de l'enfant conduisant un char, les guirlandes de lierre tressé et les cartouches ovales évoquent le travail du célèbre artisan romain Benedetto Boschetti installé Via Condotti n° 74 en 1856. L'une de ses grandes réalisations, un plateau en micromosaïques (signé B.Boschetti) reprenant le thème de "L'Amour Triomphant" a été vendu chez Sotheby's à Londres le 13 décembre 1993, lot 250.
