Condition

both terracotta's are in very good condition overall with some minor surface dirt, and a few very minor chips and scratches to the edges consistent with age and handling. The Bacchante's playing tambourine proper right hand appears to have been restored, with three fingers reattached. Her proper left upraised arm bears one repaired fissure above the elbow; another fine fissure appears to her proper left leg above the ankle, the toes of her proper left foot may have been slightly restored. Cupid's small finger of her proper left hand has been reattached. The Bacchante playing cymbals is in very good conditon overall with no noticable accdient to mention. The two terracottas are finely modelled and highly decorative.

Catalogue Note
