  • en émail champlevé bleu foncé et blanc ; les yeux en cabochons de pâte de verre ; dans un encadrement en bois doré tendu de velours rouge
  • (Christ) 10 x 8,4 cm; (Corpus Christi) 4 by 3 1/3 in.
Le traitement stylisé du corps du Christ hérité de la tradition byzantine est caractéristique de la production limousine des XIIe et XIIIe siècles. Il devait initialement orner une plaque de reliure, un crucifix ou une châsse.

Condition

Very good condition overall with general wear to the gilt surface. The eyes appear to be original, the arms are good, minor losses to the enamelin the perizonium.
