Condition

Good condition overall. Wear consistent with age and use within the culture. As visible in the catalogue illustration, two open cracks to the front. The proper left arm has almost completely disappeared consequently to ritual prelevements.

Catalogue Note

Cette statuette yanda de type nazeze se distingue par la puissance des volumes résumés à l'essentiel – portant jusqu’à l’abstraction le traitement du visage. Tandis que sa profonde patine atteste son ancienneté, l’importance des prélèvements sur le bras gauche rappelle la force vitale qui lui était conférée dans le cadre du culte du Mani.
