Oblong folio (304 x 410mm.), 92 albumen prints (88 prints 215 x 278mm.; 4 prints 142 x 99mm., or the reverse), comprising 29 portraits of people and views in Ceylon by Scowen & Co. (25 large and 4 small), mounted recto only, and 17 of India (including topographical views and a group of famine victims), 7 of Port Said and Suez by Zangaki, 11 portraits of Egyptians, Sudanese and a Persian woman (including 3 signed in the negative by H. Arnoux and one by Zangaki), 6 views of Malta (5 captioned and signed in the negative by Davison), and 2 views of Gibraltar, all mounted recto and verso on card, contemporary green half morocco, gilt edges, some images of Egypt and India damaged by adhesion or torn with loss, some fading, light dust-soiling to edges of some mounts, binding slightly worn

A fine collection of 29 photographs of Ceylon by Scowen & Co., with good dark tones and contrast, including topographical views, studies of plants, flowers and trees, and 10 portraits of people. The album also contains good images of India, and portraits of Egyptians, a Persian woman and Sudanese people.
