Catalogue Note

A written and photographic record of the present lot can be found under no. 19 in an early 1960s Kelekian inventory of the Hartley Collection (Kelekian Archive, Onassis Library, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York). The Corpus of Late Period Sculpture at the Brooklyn Museum contains two different series of photographs of the bust, one taken in 1960 (L-104-43), the other in 1970 (L-495-13-25). In his notes Bernard Bothmer compares the bust to a sculpture formerly in the Albert Eid inventory in Cairo, no. 589.
