  • An Egyptian Hardstone Wavy-handled Jar
  • stone (porphyritic diorite?)
  • Height 5 in. 12.7 cm.
probably porphyritic diorite, with flat base and slender ovoid body with everted rounded rim, each handle with two pierced vertical string holes.

Condition

Very good and as shown. Very minor nicks on handles and edge of base and elsewhere, small section of side edge of rim slightly worn down, some superficial stress cracks in the stone (visible upon close inspection of the catalogue photo).
