Two hand-colored engravings, etchings and aquatints, circa 1834, by R. Havell, on wove paper, each laid down, partially trimmed and framed (2 prints)

Condition

Zenaida Dove: The colors slightly attentuated, the sheet trimmed, laid down and unevenly discolored. An approximately six inch line of discoloration extends downward diagonally from the left sheet edge. An occassional fox mark and damp stain at the extreme lower sheet edge. Key West Pigeon: The colors attenuated, the sheet trimmed, laid down and unevenly discolored. Three vertical, poorly repaired tears measuring 1 1/2, 1 and 1/2 inch, respectively, extend from the top sheet edge into the top margin. Two horizontal, poorly repaired tears measuring 1 1/2 and 1/2 inch above the image in the field of view. The engraved title and the R. Havell attribution lines are partially worn. An occassional fox mark, an oxidized finger print in the right margin and a window of light-stain around the image. The bottom sheet edge and bottom right corner with minor damp-stain.
