Canvas is lined. SURFACE: in good condition; as is often the case with Lawson's work, the surface is painted with thick impasto and there is scattered cracquelure--however it appears stable and is hardly noticeable--in fact, surface looks fresh with excellent retention of texture and detail UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: no apparent inpainting
